I am a two time Oral Cancer survivor.  My first time around I had a tumor in my upper jaw area.  This was in 1992.  They treated it with radiation and chemo and they got it all!  Over the years I started having issues related to the radiation side effects.  It became more and more difficult to swallow - had a ton of dental work done - thyroid issues etc.  In 2011, they determined that I had tongue cancer.  They treated that surgically because I was not eligible for any more radiation. Since then I have been eating mainly via feeding tube.  I wear an obturator to lower my palate and help make it easier to talk.  I am enjoying retirement,,,,I garden and love to go on walks and manage to keep very busy,
