I was diagnosed in May 2018 two weeks before the birth of my third child... I was in surgery 36 hours before he was born and went through treatment last summer. Spent a lot of time in bed thinking about all the things I want to do when I felt better... And thanks to God, my wife, children, friends, family and medical professionals at Sloan Kettering... I feel better... So one year later, I want to run a 5k again... this time to benefit those with this disease and those who will get it in the future. And to be honest, I kind of want to celebrate how i feel now vs how dark things seemed a year ago.
