I knew almost nothing about oral cancer when I was diagnosed 4 years ago, but have since learned a lot about it, through the Oral Cancer Foundation's website and user forum, fellow patients, and my own experiences. I never smoked and rarely drink, so I was shocked to learn I had developed such a deadly disease. As with life, my treatment journey was filled with many highs and lows. Thankfully I had a loving husband, sons, family, friends, coworkers, church, and my faith to help me along the way. I am grateful to have had talented and compassionate doctors, dentists, nurses, therapists, an acupuncturist, their staff, and even a therapy dog to help me recover.  Thank you to everyone who has donated, sponsored, partnered, and participated in our Honolulu walk events. Thank you also to Brian and Ingrid Hill for creating the OCF and fighting for us all.
